Daisy Huddle, The Headstrong Business Entrepreneur.

Meet Daisy Huddle, the 19-year-old Fashion Communications Student. She wanted to share her own intro:

Headstrong, focused and bubblegum pink. The three words that have been chucked at me both positively and negatively pretty much my whole life. However, for me these words have hidden feelings of anxiety, doubt and fear behind for so many different reasons:

Headstrong; you’re too opinionated, tone it down.

Focused; you’re so strict with yourself, why don’t you just relax?

Bubblegum pink; you’re so girly and pink, far too delicate to do anything high powered ... you’re going to get yourself hurt in the process.

As I’ve got older I’ve realised that these words shouldn’t hurt me or make me want to change! Yes, I’m headstrong, focused and very bubblegum pink - but on reflection, I wouldn’t want to be any other way. If having dreams, goals and ambition all while being a bit ditsy and girly is a bad thing, then hold my pink bag and heels so I can shout it from the rooftop!

TELL THE READERS MORE ABOUT YOU, AND THE BACKGROUND OF YOUR PLATFORMS?

'So my personal Instagram is a bit all over the place at the moment! I’m a very fashion and makeup focused but I definitely need to give my account some TLC in terms of regular content! In between running 2 businesses, university and what is now a tiny shred of social life (thanks COVID), I struggle to find the time to put my glam on and have a little photoshoot. You would’ve thought that being stuck inside during lockdown would’ve given me that opportunity, but the thought of doing a full face of makeup when I just want to lounge in my PJs is really not the one!'

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START MARKETING BY DAISY AND SCENT SERIES?

'My degree inspired both of these business ventures! I want to push myself with these side hustles, to understand branding, content and marketing on a deeper level. The pandemic has definitely been a driving factor as well due to my university placements being cancelled as a result - sad times but it’s definitely inspired me to gain more of my own experience through pushing myself and getting creative!

Marketing by Daisy is encouraging me to do this from an outsiders perspective, helping brands local to me develop and give advice based on what I’ve learned during my time at uni so far. Within this, I’ve definitely had a focus from a branding perspective: content creation, logo design - just overall

Scent Series is my form of self-care! Making these wax melts is so therapeutic and smells gorgeous! Also playing around with the content for the brand is so fun and I’ve finally found the perfect backdrop and style that fits the brand.'

WHERE DO YOU HOPE THESE NEW ADVENTURES WILL TAKE YOU?

'I’d love for these adventures to evolve into something bigger and continue to make me happy. Although I completely understand that in business there are highs and lows, so I get that a little bit of stress is inevitable; but it’s all about growth, so I’m ready for the challenges!

Ultimately the goal is to learn from each mistake and grow them into something I’m proud to showcase as a part of my personality and portfolio!'

WHERE DO YOU WANT YOUR PERSONAL INSTAGRAM TO GO, AND HOW DO YOU THINK YOU'LL ACHIEVE THIS?

'I definitely want to start looking more into sharing my experiences with anxiety and how I’m overcoming it. It’s a long process and it’s a touchy subject for many, so I’m still trying to figure out how to approach addressing it in the most sensitive but informative way possible!

Where do you want your personal Instagram to go? How do you think you’ll achieve this? content! At the end of the day, fashion is what inspires me and what my education and career goals are focused around, so pushing myself to get more fashion content is definitely key for me.'

WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE IN 5 YEARS TIME? WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?

'In five years I want to be working in branding for a luxury company, have my own home and continue to grow my side hustles.

I wanted a career in branding even before I started the module at uni. Then once I became invested in the branding assignment (and got a good grade at the end), I knew it was definitely the path I want to go down! But, life is full of twists and turns and I’m only halfway through y degree, so who knows? I might decide to do something completely different, life’s funny like that.

Ultimately I want to focus on maintaining my incredible friendships and relationships because the ones I have now are so positive and are helping me develop so much confidence and happiness.'
