Meet Nicole Guerreiro, half South African and half Portuguese fashion blogger. She grew up in South Africa until she was 24 years, and studied for 4 years at the University of Pretoria and received her Honours degree in Fashion and Business. Nicole is a Christian, and lives a Christian inspired life. She love's dressing up on a daily basis, even if the brief is casual, she also loves taking photos, being on the beach and travelling. In her own words... 'My aspiration in life is to be a good example to people, to be giving towards people and always care for people.' Nicole's fun fact is that her favourite food is the Greek dish called Souvlaki. Her dream would be to open her own clothing brand, and be a successful business woman.

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR BLOG, THE THEME AND WHY YOU STARTED?

‘My blog is inspired by European street style, because I am South African I’ve always been inspired by the European style and I just want to break the South African mould as you can see on my Instagram, just because I find there is a niche in the market, as a lot of bloggers post very high end products that no one can afford. I started my blog as I really enjoy it, a lot of people have been telling me that my photos are amazing, which has given me the boost to carry on.’

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE HIGH STREET STORE?

‘My favourite high street store would definitely be Zara just because you get quality, affordable prices, fashionable items all at the same time, and you literally find things you love in every single corner you look. You have a lot of variety, a lot of choices and you can find Zara anywhere. I just think Zara embraces high fashion nature, there is always new items so there is something new to wear and I just think there clothes are beautiful and inspired by European street style, so definitely love Zara for sure.’

YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF AS BEING AFFORDABLE FASHION BLOGGER, WHY? AND WHERE WOULD YOU GO FOR A FASHION BARGAIN?

‘In terms of affordable fashion on my Instagram, I grew up in a small town in South Africa so I sort of had to learn how to dress fashionably for an affordable price as we didn’t have many stores available. I do look for a bargain but I only buy things that I love, I never buy things I might wear, that’s very important to me. For a bargain, I would shop at places at Primark, H&M, Zara sometimes Topshop, but I do struggle to find things there. I strive for affordable fashion, as the majority of people can only afford cheaper items, I do believe you can look good with items that aren’t expensive as Louis Vuitton or Chanel because I do believe that there is a trickle-down theory, many of the stores copy the high end brands, so you are still able to dress as though you are a high end brand oriented person for an affordable price. ’

IN CONTRAST, WHERE WOULD YOU TREAT YOURSELF?

‘In terms of treating myself, I would still go to Zara just because they have both low and high priced items. So I would treat myself to a high priced item like a coat for £200 pounds. I'm at a point in my life where I can’t afford £1000 bag or shoes from Louis Vuitton, so that is my life aspiration one day to be able to afford. I just started working recently so my spoil would be something more expensive from Zara or even like Adidas trainers from JD Sports.’

WHAT ARE YOUR FIVE WARDROBE ESSENTIALS?

‘My 5 wardrobe essentials would be a jumper or turtleneck, jeans, trainers, a blazer and a coat. I would wear it exactly like that, I would wear the blazer with the coat on top, with a turtleneck underneath with some smart jeans and trainers. That would be my wardrobe essentials that you can wear each items in so many ways to create different outfits.’

WHO ARE YOUR FAVOURITE FASHION BLOGGERS?

‘My favourite Instagram bloggers would be @Lornaluxe, a British blogger. What I love about her is her photos, they are amazing and she has a relaxed European street style that is cosy, it is both comfortable and street style. She interacts with her followers daily, she also updates her followers on what she is doing, when she is with her partner, doing her makeup and skin routine, when she’s going on holiday, constantly updating her followers. The second blogger is a girl named @Yvzux, she is not as famous as @Lornaluxe, but she is becoming more famous every day. She is the definition of street style, she is very edgy, I just love her outfits, it's everything I would want to wear, literally. @Lornaluxe will have things I wouldn’t wear all the time, but @Yvzux's outfits are my style. I love @Lornaluxe due to her interactions, and some of her styles, and @Yvzux doesn’t really interact but her style is on point, and her locations are very edgy, everything about her is amazing.

WHERE DO YOU WANT YOUR BLOG TO GO IN THE FUTURE?

‘Ok so where I want my blog to be in a few years, I would definitely say to collaborate with other bloggers and brands, that would be the most reasonable step to be at the moment. In the future, in about 10 year’s time I would use my Instagram platform to create my own fashion business, so there are my two goals for the future.’
